April 5th
Location: Monrovia

In the last few days I have begun to feel a deep sense of pressure from the different projects and needs that I, at least in some way, have become responsible for. As this pressure has continued to build I react like most people, I focus my attention and narrow in on the task at hand. This was a great statergy until I realized how easily I once again fell into the familiar pattern of leaning on my own strength. I was reminded tonight that I am in Liberia because God brought me here, the He created my friendships and has strengthened them over the months, and that His plan will be accomplished. A few weeks ago I asked for prayer for our HIV and AIDS volunteer testing and counseling proposal that I was writing…well tonight I found out that it was approved! What this means is that our HIV and AIDS department will be opened for another year which also includes our free blood donation work in Lofa…God truly is good and the fact that He gently reminds me that it is in His strength that miracles happen continues to testify of His grace on my life.
