February 6th
Location: Foya (Lofa County)
Alisa, James and I decide it was time to improve our motorbike abilities…so off we went from Foya early this morning to Voinjama (the capital city in Lofa) about a 2 hour driving distance. The plan was to get there eat lunch (at the Pakistani base) and return to Foya. This would be my first long drive on the motorbike…the roads are packed with dirt and gravel and as we approached Voinjama I hit an extra loose patch of dust and my tires slipped…James was right behind me and thankfully chose to sacrifice himself instead of hitting my leg …he flew over me and into the bush, his helmet protected his head…after regaining our composure we were off again to Voinjama…visited the hospital... luckily just a few scraps for me and a headache for James... I am officially 2 for 3 of number of days riding and number of times wiping out...hopefully these 6 hours of practice today will turn that percentage around :)
