I have safely returned to Monrovia and although I always miss upcountry when I leave, I was glad to be able to get the chance to hang out with my roommate Joni as she prepares to fly to London tomorrow. Joni is going to cheer on Bev Kauffeldt who is running the London marathon as our first SP international field staff, representing our Liberia office. Bev is an incredible women and an inspiration to a lot of us, she is running the marathon to raise funds for two amazing programs that SP does in Liberia, water and sanitation and adult literacy (which is the program I worked with for about 3 months).
