Today I celebrated my 25th Birthday and my 8 month anniversary of living in Liberia. What a sweet day….I woke up and Taya gave me a massive hug and an incredibly sweet card, Bev served a delicious strong brew of Starbucks coffee, I received encouraging emails and Facebook messages all day, got taken to Chinese for lunch, came back to have the 2 finance ladies Debbie and Dorothy wow me with a Liberian Birthday dance, took an evening nap, woke up to find more birthday cards, a hilarious one from Joni and a homemade one from Debbie with a surfer chick standing on her sweet board, then Joe stops by with ice cream (which is a rare treat and a surprise everyone was in on) chocolate and a hilarious card, then off to Bev’s for cake and coffee with “I got a filling I’m 25” written on the top…oh I will never live that one down…and I think I have been sung the Happy Birthday song more times today than I have in the last 3 years combined, I loved it…thanks to everyone who reminded me how lucky I am to be here today!
