Today I celebrated Valentines with the THINK home girls. The THINK home is a safe home for young women who have been affected by the war and/or have experienced a sexually abusive past. These women live at the THINK home for 9 months, there are 25 girls who live at the home at a time, 15 without a child and 10 who have a child under the age of 5. During the 9 months the women go through an accelerated learning program that provides 3 years of education in 9 months , in-depth counseling and training in either tailoring, food preservation, or cosmology. The THINK home is an inspiring place to visit and a place that screams of redemption. Today the girls had a party to celebrate love…how encouraging is that…to be able to celebrate love means that much healing from the past has taken place...so although Valentines is a overly commercialized holiday…it can also be a beautiful day to forgive the perpetrators of pain of be surprised by that deep love that blossoms through forgiveness.
